Dewitt Carter School houses many programs that are accessed by community and students such as the Breakfast Club, Parent and Children Today (P.A.C.T.) and in the past, programs geared to Conflict Resolutions such as Children's Learning for Living and Poster Program.
The District School Board of Niagara also offers counselling services to help students deal with difficult social or emotional problems. A Youth Counsellor is assigned to the Port Colborne Area and has office space at Dewitt Carter School. The Youth Counsellor can be helpful when working with students experiencing issues such as parental separation, conflict at school, bearevement and low self esteem. The counsellor acts as a referral source, suggesting the appropriate agencies that will help the student and family.
